Installation Notes and Best Practices

The SUMO bushing is longer than the factory needle bearing, a design choice that provides improved support. Because of variations in Toyota differential castings, some carriers include a bore transition that affects flush seating.

Installation Guidance

The bushing is designed to be installed slightly above the carrier bore, with an acceptable installed height of 0.030"–0.065".
Forcing the bushing past an internal step can damage the bushing and interfere with axle alignment — this should be avoided.
Use the included tools to apply firm, even pressure until seating resistance is felt, then verify installation height before proceeding.

This ensures the bushing seats correctly and performs as intended.
